A handy wigdet

by eir on July 29th, 2011

I bet you didn’t expect yet another new app 🙂

Ok, it’s only a widget. But I’d say it’s quite nice to have on your homescreen. It displays the feast or the saint of the day, according to the Julian Orthodox Calendar. The text is all in Russian, and so are the selected saints.

It may sound trivial for some, but have in mind that it doesn’t require internet connection, everything is programmed and contained in the app. So, it’ll work just fine if you are on Sinai, or Mount Athos (actually, there it will also be in concordance regarding the calendar which is used :-)) and have neither wi-fi nor GSM signal.

The app is available only on the Android Market, at least for the moment.
